Duchy Of Cornwall Accounts

EDM number 1503 in 2006-07, proposed by Brian Iddon on 17/05/2007.

That this House notes that, in the financial year 2005-06, the Duchy of Cornwall employed 102 people and had a revenue surplus of £14.1 million and a capital value of £561.2 million; further notes that the Duchy of Cornwall is not required presently to meet the disclosure requirements set out for public sector organisations and companies; further notes that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), in its 19th report of the 2004-05 Session of Parliament, called upon it to make its accounts `clearer and more transparent'; further notes that, despite repeated pressure from the campaign group Republic, this recommendation of the PAC has not been implemented; and calls on the Duchy of Cornwall to take steps to make its accounts more transparent, as recommended by the PAC.

This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs.
