Rural Bus Services In Lancashire

EDM number 622 in 2006-07, proposed by Nigel Evans on 15/01/2007.

That this House is angered by the news that Lancashire County Council is to axe 29 bus services across Lancashire, many of which are rural services, as part of a programme of £10 million cuts; urges Lancashire County Council to rethink the planned cuts, as the removal of rural buses will hurt those rural dwellers who are reliant upon them; and notes that this decision will force people to use cars and burn more fossil fuels, which is against the Government's policy of using public transport to help reduce climate change.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
