Black Country Regional Spatial Strategy

EDM number 112 in 2007-08, proposed by Adrian Bailey on 07/11/2007.
Categorised under the topic of Regional planning and development.

That this House welcomes the Secretary of State's recent response to the Phase One revision of Regional Spatial Strategy Eleven (11); acknowledges and recognises the importance that her endorsement of the inspector's report will play towards the wider regeneration of the Black Country and the role of the four strategic centres of Brierley Hill, Walsall, West Bromwich and Wolverhampton with strong supporting roles for the other town centres; recognises the crucial role that retail and office development plays in supporting the economic, physical and community regeneration of the area; and feels confident that the setting aside of long held divisions locally between the four Black Country boroughs and the building of strong partnerships to deliver a unity of vision is a clear and welcome example of the political will required to achieve the renaissance of the subregion.
