Shrewsbury And The Cycling Town Initiative

That this House congratulates Shrewsbury on being one of 16 towns short-listed for Cycling England's new Cycling Town initiative to promote cycling in urban parts of England; welcomes the funding being made available for schemes around the country to increase the number of people travelling by bicycle and the number of journeys made by bicycle; hopes that Shrewsbury is one of the 10 towns successful in securing funding for the project; and believes that Shrewsbury deserves to be designated as a cycling town.
