Opinion Poll On Iran

EDM number 505 in 2007-08, proposed by George Galloway on 06/12/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Elections, Iran, Middle East, Military operations and Terrorism.

That this House congratulates the Mayor of London on his commissioning of a Mori Poll which, inter-alia, revealed that 70 per cent. of Londoners believed that the British Government's support for an American-led attack on Iran would make London less safe; notes that only 3 per cent. believed that it would make London more safe, whilst 78 per cent. of Londoners believed that the British support for such an attack on Iran would make a terrorist attack on London more likely; further notes that 75 per cent. of Londoners thought America would be wrong to take military action against Iran and that 75 per cent. would oppose British forces joining American-led military action against Iran; and therefore calls upon the Government to take careful note of these opinions, which are widely shared throughout the country.
