Us Administration And The Falkland Islands

EDM number 1014 in 2009-10, proposed by Nigel Evans on 04/03/2010.
Categorised under the topics of Falkland Islands and International politics and government.

That this House deprecates the US administration for its lack of support for the position of the Government regarding the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands; notes Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's comments in her address to L'Ecole Militaire in Paris in January, in which she referred to the `cornerstone of security' as being `the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states'; believes that mediation is unnecessary as long as Falkland Islanders wish to remain British; and calls on Secretary of State Clinton and the US administration to dismiss the option of mediation and to respect the right of the people of the Falkland Islands to assert their sovereignty.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
