Energy Companies' Profits

EDM number 952 in 2009-10, proposed by Mike Weir on 25/02/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Energy.

That this House is appalled by a surge in energy companies' profits during the coldest winter for 30 years; believes that the big six energy producers should rightly pass on the massive reduction in wholesale energy prices they have been enjoying since 2008; recognises that positive steps, such as the Scottish Government's Energy Assistance Package, bring welcome help for the fuel poor; and calls for firmer action from the UK Government to help the increasing number of people suffering in fuel poverty.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
