Welsh International 20-20 And One Day Cricket Team

EDM number 161 in 2010-12, proposed by Jonathan Edwards on 07/06/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House congratulates the English national cricket team for winning the 20-20 World Cup in the West Indies; recognises Wales' proud cricketing tradition; notes that Ireland and Afghanistan qualified for the recent 20-20 World Cup and that Scotland and Holland have qualified for recent One Day World Cup competitions; believes a Welsh national cricket team could be set up to compete at both competitions without endangering Glamorgan's status as a First Class County or Sophia Gardens, Cardiff as a Test venue; and looks forward to a Welsh national cricket team competing at future cricket world cups to provide the English team with stiffer competition.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
