Newport Passport Office (No. 2)

EDM number 1856 in 2010-12, proposed by Paul Flynn on 24/05/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Employment and Industrial relations.

That this House regrets the decision by the Government to cut 120 of the jobs at the Newport Passport Office which will have a serious impact on the area; and welcomes the announcement that 150 jobs will remain at the office, but recognises that this was achieved only after a sustained campaign by politicians, the South Wales Argus and community groups, together with the Public and Commercial Services Union, which persuaded the Government to climb down on its original plans to close the office.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
