That this House notes the recent note by the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (Post) in respect of the level of carbon emissions from nuclear power (Post Note 383); further notes that the report found that levels of emissionsfrom nuclear power were approximately three times lower per kilowatt hour than those of solar, four times lower than clean coal and 36 times lower than conventional coal; and calls on the Government to press ahead with the construction of new nuclear power stations in order to directly address our climate change obligations and help reduce levels of fuel poverty.
