Equality And Non-Discrimination Legislation

EDM number 2109 in 2010-12, proposed by Julian Huppert on 19/07/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Equality.

That this House welcomes legislation on equality and non-discrimination as vital for the protection of people of all faiths and none; notes that the Supreme Court has not found any evidence of discrimination against Christians by the operation of equality laws in the workplace; recognises the importance of the Ladele judgment in setting a precedent in support of protecting gay and lesbian people from discrimination by religious public service workers; and calls on the Government to base any proposed changes to legislation on equality and non-discrimination on evidence rather than the opinions of a vocal minority.

This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
