Olympics 2012

EDM number 2266 in 2010-12, proposed by Alison McGovern on 18/10/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Cultural heritage and Performing arts.

That this House looks forward to the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics as a unique opportunity to showcase the best of British talent; recognises that the UK has an unrivalled reputation for staging large scale live music events from Live Aid through to the recent Take That concerts at Wembley Stadium; and therefore looks forward to the inclusion of live music in the ceremonies, particularly given that live music, from Glastonbury to the Proms, is one of the top reasons that tourists give for visiting the UK.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
