England Rugby League Captain Jamie Peacock Mbe

That this House congratulates Leeds Rhinos star and England Rugby League captain Jamie Peacock upon receiving his MBE from HM the Queen, at Buckingham Palace, on 22 February 2012; praises his contribution to the sport of Rugby League, particularly as England captain since 2008, most recently leading them to the final of the 2011 Four Nations tournament; notesthatin 2006, he captained Great Britain toits first victory over Australia, in Australia, for 12 years and in 2007 led them to a series whitewash over New Zealand; recognises his success at Bradford Bulls where he won three grand finals, two challenge cups and two world club challenges; commends his part in the success of the Leeds Rhinos team since signing for the club in 2006, winning four grand finals and a further two world club challenges; further commends his significant contribution in the defeat of Manly Sea Eagles by Leeds Rhinos with a score of 26-12 on 20 February 2012, equalling the record of three world club crowns with Wigan and Bradford; further commends him on taking the record for the number of World Club Championship medals with four; further notes that this award not only honours him, but is also a welcome recognition for the sport of Rugby League; and welcomes the continued support from his family, friends, team mates, coaches and supporters in assisting him in achieving this honour.
