Swansea Maritime Rescue Co-Ordination Centre (No. 2)

EDM number 2890 in 2010-12, proposed by Martin Caton on 19/03/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Emergency services and Marine environment.

That this House believes that the Government's announcement that it intends to close Swansea Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (Coastguard Station) threatens the safety of people using the waters and coast around the Bristol Channel; notes that this decision was made without undertaking a risk assessment exercise; welcomes the call from Wales First Minister for such a risk assessment to be made; notes his offer for the Welsh Government to co-finance this; and urges the Secretary of State for Transport to respond positively.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
