Ethics Of Law Firms

EDM number 3003 in 2010-12, proposed by Barry Sheerman on 24/04/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Legal profession and Parliament.

That this House is disturbed by evidence that legal firms in the UK are increasingly combining their legal services with a lobbying function;notes that this practice in the United States has compromised legal standards; is concerned that the proposed register of lobbyists would not cover such law firms and their lobbying activities; and calls on the Government to act to discourage this trend in the UK, in partnership with the Law Society and other professional associations.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
