Help For Home Buyers

EDM number 1255 in 2012-13, proposed by John Leech on 26/03/2013.
Categorised under the topics of Housing and Loans.

That this House welcomes the Government's recent announcement of measures to make housing more affordable by a range of methods including a help-to-buy scheme, and providing an interest-free Government loan to help people to raise a housing deposit; recognises that this and the commitment to build a further 15,000 affordable homes will help to boost the housing market; notes that these measures will increase the amount of first time buyers and second movers who can afford to buy houses; further notes that measures should be put in place to prevent misuse of this scheme from buyers of second homes and investment properties; and urges the Government to do this so the scheme can run as intended.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
