Future Of Durham County Cricket Club

EDM number 574 in 2016-17, proposed by Kevan Jones on 19/10/2016.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House calls on the Durham County Cricket Club (DCCC) partnership stakeholders, notably the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Durham County Council, to secure the future of first-class and international cricket in County Durham; condemns the punitive action of the ECB against DCCC; encourages the ECB to review its procedures for allocation of international cricket matches; believes that the ECB should commit to ensuring that cricket fans can still enjoy professional cricket at all levels, including international and test cricket, at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street; and further calls on the ECB to clarify regulation governing points penalties and to set out what other options were discussed with DCCC before imposing relegation, points deductions and loss of test status.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
