Disabled Hospital Car Parking Charges

EDM number 496 in 2017-19, proposed by Robert Halfon on 02/11/2017.
Categorised under the topics of Equality, Health services and Roads.

That this House notes that Government guidance published in August 2014 on hospital car parking recommended that concessions, including free or reduced charges or caps, should be available for disabled people, is disappointed that 44 per cent of hospitals continue to charge blue badge holders standard parking rates; understands the serious implications for patients and visitors to patients in hospitals; and urges the Government to consider ways to reduce the cost of hospital parking for blue badge holders.
