Sinking Of The Sapphire

EDM number 431 in 1997-98, proposed by Alex Salmond on 11/11/1997.

That this House congratulates the families of the fishermen lost in the sinking of the 'Sapphire' who have led a successful campaign to raise, by public subscription, the ú380,000 necessary to make the attempt to recover the bodies of the 'Sapphire's' last crewmen; and regrets that the Government felt unable to help the families in any way.
