Pakistan - India Agreement

EDM number 341 in 1998-99, proposed by Gerald Kaufman on 22/02/1999.

That this House congratulates the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India on their agreement in Lahore on ballistic missile flights; expresses the hope that these contacts at the highest level will continue and that they will result in further agreements on subjects of such vital importance, including confidence-building measures to ease the confrontations over Jammu and Kashmir; and looks forward to the day when these two great countries will reach agreement on reductions of armaments which will enable them to co-operate on measures to reduce poverty and enhance economic and social progress in South Asia.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
