Further Public Funding For Millennium Dome

EDM number 376 in 1998-99, proposed by Robert Marshall-Andrews on 02/03/1999.

That this House expresses its grave concern at the contents of the Comptroller and Auditor General's Report on the Account of the Millennium Commission for 1997-98; Financial Control of Expenditure relating to the Millennium Experience, and in particular the observations that there 'remains significant uncertainty as to the ultimate source and quantum of supplementary finance that may be necessary should income levels not measure up to budget and forecast, that cash flow phasing might give rise to problems for the Company and the Commission in 1999, that it may be necessary for the Commission or Government to identify ways of assisting the Company in this matter'; and calls upon the Government to state that no further public funds will be made available to the Millennium Experience, whether from Government or the Millennium Commission, beyond the ú449 million grant offer already made.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
