A National Voice

EDM number 728 in 1998-99, proposed by Hilton Dawson on 15/06/1999.

That this House congratulates all the young people and adults who have contributed to the development of 'A National Voice' - the new national organisation for children and young people who are in or have left care; recognises that the care system requires fundamental improvement; understands that it is essential that the voices of children and young people in care are heard at all levels; celebrates the qualities and achievements of all young people in care; believes that young people in care have a great contribution to make to new models of citizenship and democratic participation throughout the United Kingdom; and welcomes the use of the Members Dining Room on Tuesday 29th June at 4 p.m. to enable honourable Members to hear about the potential significance of 'A National Voice' from the young people themselves.

This motion has been signed by a total of 47 MPs.
