Christians In Uzbekistan

EDM number 918 in 1998-99, proposed by John D Taylor on 19/10/1999.

That this House welcomes the desire to uphold democracy and the rule of law in a modern secular Uzbekistan; recognises the political threat from radical Islamists but calls upon the authorities in Uzbekistan not to persecute Muslims or Christians in pursuit of secularism; and is concerned about the recent imprisonment of Christian pastors.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
