Event At Chailey Commemorating Polish Airman

EDM number 1022 in 1999-00, proposed by Norman Baker on 25/07/2000.

That this House sends its best wishes for the commemorative event planned for Saturday 5th August 2000, at Chailey, East Sussex, that will acknowledge with deepest thanks the efforts of the Polish airmen who flew from that wartime airfield; and pays tribute to the Poles who during the Second World War played such a valuable role in defending the skies over Britain and who, later in the war, played such a gallant role in the liberation of mainland Europe.
