Progress On Arms Control And International Stability

EDM number 578 in 1999-00, proposed by John McWilliam on 30/03/2000.

That this House, recalling the NATO strategy of April 1999, considers the use of nuclear weapons to be an extremely remote possibility; and believes that the reduction and elimination of any threat is a far better strategy than investing in the doubtful effectiveness of missile defences, which would, by their nature, undermine progress on arms control and international stability.

This motion has been signed by a total of 37 MPs.
