That this House congratulates the British Standards Institution on its 70 year record of service to British consumers under Royal Charter; notes that it is over 70 years since the award of the first kitemark for a product and that the Institution now employs 3,800 people in 96 countries bring their expertise in the certification of standards to almost 40,000 companies in 68 countries which choose BSI as their preferred quality services partner; and welcomes the first ever Kitemark award for a service, which was unveiled today, to British Gas Services, which maintains the central heating systems of some three million people in this country.
