2001 Census

EDM number 24 in 2000-01, proposed by Elfyn Llwyd on 06/12/2000.

That this House recognises the importance of accurate and full responses to the 2001 census; welcomes the fact that United Kingdom citizens can choose from a wide range of nationalities and ethnic origins, including Scottish in Scotland and Irish throughout the United Kingdom; and therefore deplores strongly the refusal of the Office for National Statistics to accede to the opinion of people in Wales and include a Welsh tick box on the forms to be used in Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
