60th Anniversary Of The Air Training Corps

EDM number 279 in 2000-01, proposed by Bob Russell on 31/01/2001.

That this House congratulates the Air Training Corps on the 60th Anniversary of its formation in February 1941; pays tribute to all associated with the ATC, past and present, for the excellent work it has done over the past 60 years; notes that membership currently stands at almost 49,000 young people aged between 13 and 22 years serving as air cadets with more than 1,000 squadrons, supported by nearly 10,000 volunteer staff plus 5,000 civilian committee members, making it the world's largest youth air training organisation; and wishes the Air Training Corps further success in the years ahead.

This motion has been signed by a total of 56 MPs.
