Calls For An Additional Bank Holiday

That this House notes with concern the ongoing foot and mouth crisis and its serious impact on the tourism industry; welcomes calls by business groups, tourism boards and others for an extra bank holiday this year; and urges Her Majesty's Government to announce an additional bank holiday in the last weekend in September or another suitable date in the autumn to allow businesses to recoup their losses.
