Help The Hospices Proposals

EDM number 1165 in 2001-02, proposed by Liam Fox on 19/04/2002.

That this House congratulates the Help the Hospices proposals to the Secretary of State for Health for the 2002 Spending Review; Points out that the Conservative manifesto commitment at the last general election called for an increase in the NHS contribution for hospice funding from 32 per cent. to 40 per cent. for adult hospices and from 4 per cent. to 40 per cent. for children's hospices; acknowledges the tireless work of the dedicated staff and volunteers in providing tremendous and unswerving care to the terminally ill; and urges the Government to give the Help the Hospices recommendations their urgent attention.

This motion has been signed by a total of 80 MPs.
