Endangered Species

EDM number 1364 in 2001-02, proposed by Chris Grayling on 21/05/2002.

That this House notes with concern the new report by the United Nations Environment Programme which warns that 1,000 species of mammal face extinction in the next 30 years; recognises the role of the United Kingdom in promoting the importance of biodiversity since the Rio Summit in 1992; further notes that maintaining biodiversity is one of the most important parts of environmental policy; and calls on the Government to work to strengthen international biodiversity agreements and to encourage other governments to do the same.

This motion has been signed by a total of 62 MPs.
