Usa Football

EDM number 1454 in 2001-02, proposed by Tony Banks on 17/06/2002.

That this House sends its warmest congratulations to the USA football team and their coach Bruce Arena on their qualifying for the quarter-finals of the World Cup; was singularly impressed by the USA's stunning victories over the renowned footballing nations of Portugal and Mexico; deplores the failure of the US media; public and politicians to give proper recognition to the achievements of their national team; calls upon that country to join the real sporting world; and look forward to a USA victory over Germany and a possible match with England in the World Cup Final.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
