Food Aid Situation In Western Sahara

EDM number 1800 in 2001-02, proposed by Simon Thomas on 22/10/2002.

That this House is concerned about the situation of over 170,000 Saharawi refugees from Western Sahara; is alarmed at the increasing food shortage among refugees; notes that the World Food Programme estimates that one third of Saharawi children suffer chronic malnutrition; and urges the Government and the Secretary of State for International Development to work with the World Food Programme to overcome this crisis.
