Commemorative Stamps For Gibraltar

EDM number 634 in 2001-02, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 09/01/2002.

That this House notes that in 2004 Gibraltar will be celebrating 300 years as a British Overseas Territory; notes the loyalty of Gibraltar's citizens to the British crown, particularly during times of war, and the essential role Gibraltar has played and continues to play in providing a military base for British armed forces; further notes how the economy of Gibraltar has expended and grown leaving Gibraltarians more independent; believes that the 300th anniversary as a British Overseas Territory is a landmark which should be celebrated; and this House calls on the Royal Mail to introduce commemorative stamps in the run up to 2004, marking the 300th anniversary.

This motion has been signed by a total of 48 MPs.
