Militarisation Of The Punjab

EDM number 671 in 2001-02, proposed by John McDonnell on 16/01/2002.

That this House expresses its deep concern that the governments of India and Pakistan are engaged in an intensive militarisation of the Punjab, including the laying of extensive minefields and the deployment of troops and heavy armour; and urges the Government to continue its efforts to resolve the conflict between India and Pakistan, thus securing the safety of Punjabis in both countries.
