Stop Now Campaign

EDM number 756 in 2001-02, proposed by Jim Dobbin on 29/01/2002.

That this House welcomes the energywatch Stop Now Campaign that calls upon energy companies to stop sales malpractice; agrees that Ofgem should do more to tackle persistent offending energy companies; accepts that a register of rogue sales agents would be a step in the right direction; and calls upon the energy companies to tackle these problems or this House will have to look again at how best to protect the interests of the energy consumer.

This motion has been signed by a total of 105 MPs.
