80th Anniversary Of The Royal British Legion

EDM number 78 in 2001-02, proposed by Bob Russell on 04/07/2001.

That this House congratulates The Royal British Legion on attaining its 80th anniversary on 1st July; pays tribute to the unceasing work of its members on behalf of ex-service people over the past eight decades since its formation in 1921 from four existing organisations, thus creating Britain's premier ex-service organisation with one voice to speak, very often with beneficial results, on behalf of the ex-service community which today, with dependants, forms nearly a quarter of the population; and wishes all associated with The Royal British Legion further success in the years ahead.

This motion has been signed by a total of 97 MPs.
