13th Anniversary Of Death Of Pat Finucane

EDM number 849 in 2001-02, proposed by Kevin McNamara on 12/02/2002.

That this House notes that 12th February marks the 13th anniversary of the murder of Northern Ireland solicitor, Pat Finucane; welcomes the investigation and report into his death published today by the International Lawyers Committee for Human Rights; is concerned to learn that persistent allegations of police and army involvement in his murder have not been laid to rest; and urges the Government to meet the demands of the Finucane family for an independent judicial inquiry to investigate the circumstances and background to the murder of Patrick Finucane and subsequent investigations.

This motion has been signed by a total of 35 MPs.
