Second World Assembly On Ageing

That this House calls attention to the UN Second world Assembly on Ageing in Madrid in April; believes that the Government should take note of changing demographics and increase the inclusion of ageing issues within the wider policy agenda; urges the Government to introduce further legislation following agreement of the Second International Plan on Ageing at Madrid; looks to the Government to implement the outcomes of the plan in full, with regular consultation with groups representing and comprising older people; and further urges the Government to have clear measurable targets and to monitor progress regularly.
