Canadian Culling Of Seals

That this House is dismayed to learn that the Canadian Government has authorized the culling of one million seals over the next three seasons; notes with disgust that many of the pups are only three weeks old when they are clubbed, and that some are actually skinned alive; congratulates the Mirror newspaper for its coverage of this issue and for its hard work 20 years ago in campaigning for a European ban on importing baby seal fur; and calls upon the Government to raise this issue with the Canadian Government; and to urge them to end such barbaric practices.
