Southampton Football Club
EDM number 1264 in 2002-03, proposed by Alan Whitehead on 20/05/2003.
That this House salutes the achievement of Southampton Football Club in reaching the FA cup final; congratulates the team on their committed football and the fans for their committed support; applauds the success of the club in finishing eighth in the premiership on limited resources; and believes that these successes stand as an example of prudence allied with passion that other clubs blessed with superior financial means would do well to emulate.
