Diabetes National Framework

EDM number 510 in 2002-03, proposed by Adrian Sanders on 14/01/2003.

That this House welcomes the publication of the National Service Framework for Diabetes Delivery Strategy in England; notes that the National Service Framework requires the establishment of up-to-date practice-based registers so that patients receive appropriate advice and treatment in line with the National Service Framework standards; welcomes the commitment that by 2007 all people with diabetes at risk of retinopathy in England will be offered screening for the early detection of diabetic retinopathy; and calls on all primary care trusts to set their own local targets which will result in tangible and immediate service improvements for people with diabetes.

This motion has been signed by a total of 59 MPs.
