Reforming The 20 Day Rule

EDM number 90 in 2002-03, proposed by John Hayes on 13/11/2002.

That this House shares the concern of the UK livestock industry about the continuation of the 20 day rule and notes its more flexible application in Scotland; and calls upon the Government to examine the exemption process with a view to a more flexible and less bureaucratic regime which provides greater support for English and Welsh farmers who otherwise will be obliged either to break the law or face commercial ruin.

This motion has been signed by a total of 60 MPs.
