Tracey Morris And The Olympic Games

EDM number 1001 in 2003-04, proposed by Don Foster on 20/04/2004.

That this House congratulates Tracey Morris for her phenomenal performance in this year's London Marathon; praises her for winning a place in the Great Britain squad for the Olympic Games in Athens this summer; acknowledges that this achievement is all the more notable as she is as amateur athlete; notes the role played by her local club Valley Striders in encouraging her with her sport; believes that the role of amateur sports clubs is vital in developing the future generation of British sporting talent; and calls on the Government to offer increased support for all grassroots sports clubs and organisations across the UK.

This motion has been signed by a total of 50 MPs.
