Smoking Ban In Wales

EDM number 1009 in 2003-04, proposed by Paul Flynn on 20/04/2004.

That this House notes the great success of the ban on smoking in public places in Ireland; regrets that the decision by a majority in all parties in the Welsh Assembly last year to introduce a similar ban could not be enacted because the Assembly lacks the legislative powers; and looks forward to the adoption of the recommendations of the Richard Commission which will allow Wales to introduce this ban and other progressive legislation.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
