G-Wiz Electric Cars

EDM number 1272 in 2003-04, proposed by David Chaytor on 25/05/2004.

That this House welcomes GoinGreen's G-Wiz, the first mass produced, commercially available and emission-free electric car in Europe; believes that the increased availability and use of electric emission-free cars reduces the damage done to the environment by petrol and diesel fuelled vehicles and will help the UK reach the target for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 20 per cent. below 1990 levels by 2010; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to encourage the use of electric cars, in particular through the introduction of on-street recharging points and tightening emission standards.

This motion has been signed by a total of 58 MPs.
