National Care Leavers Week

EDM number 1809 in 2003-04, proposed by Hilton Dawson on 25/10/2004.

That this House welcomes National Care Leavers Week which this year aims to focus upon the housing needs of young people for whom the local authority is their corporate parent; commends the Bryn Melyn Foundation and a National Voice for this initiative; and urges all honourable Members to support the Care Leaver's Housing Charter by asking their local authority to compare their services with the minimum standards proposed by young people and ask councillors and senior officials whether what is on offer in their constituencies would be good enough for their own children.

This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
