Nuclear Proliferation Treaty

EDM number 1916 in 2003-04, proposed by Tony Colman on 11/11/2004.

That this House acknowledges the work of the International Atomic Energy Agency in dealing with nuclear weapons; congratulates Her Majesty's Government on being the first nuclear power to ratify the Additional Protocol to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty; notes the decision of the United States Senate in October 2004 to pass legislation approving the Additional Protocol; and calls on the Prime Minister to use his influence with President Bush to persuade him to sign the Additional Protocol and thus join China, France and the United Kingdom among the nuclear powers that support this international agreement.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
