Channel 4

EDM number 477 in 2003-04, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 22/01/2004.

That this House expresses great concern at the title of the Channel 4 documentary series, The Missing Chink, notes that while the aim of the programme to highlight the need for more Chinese role models especially in the arts and sport is laudable; believes that the title is blatantly offensive to the Chinese community in Britain, and is counterproductive to these aims; and therefore calls on Channel 4 to retitle or withdraw the series forthwith.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
