Recognition Of John Charles Cbe, Footballer, Wales And Leeds United

EDM number 675 in 2003-04, proposed by Colin Burgon on 24/02/2004.

That this House supports the calls for the career and achievements of the outstanding Welsh and Leeds United footballer, John Charles, to be recorded for sporting posterity, first by the renaming of one of the stands at Elland Road as the John Charles stand and secondly by the setting up of an appropriate memorial in his home town of Swansea.
